"The Horse"
Where in this
wide world can man find nobility without pride,
Friendship without envy,
Or beauty without vanity?
Here, where grace is served with muscle
And strength by gentleness confined
He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity.
There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent.
There is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.
Than the Horse.
~Ronald Duncan, 1954

Words can not describe the loss that I feel, and what Buddy meant to me personally. There was as Kath has said, a presence and aura that was unmistakable. He was so full life, and was just so special to be around.
I know that he has also touched many people, and especially those that personally met him, or have a son/daughter by him. Buddy managed to not only pass on his beautiful head and neck, but his presence, aura and great nature as well to his foals.
YOU WILL BE SO VERY VERY MISSED BUDDY, and I am so glad that I had the chance to have the cuddles, talks and the time that we did have.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people that have expressed their sorrow and love of Just Shameless.
Due to the loss of Buddy, there will no longer be frozen semen available for sale. All and any rebreeds from the previous year will be honoured. I will continue to breed a couple of very special Just Shameless babies every year, some of which will be for sale.

YOU CAN NOT BUY THIS KIND OF TEMPERAMENT
...

NOTE FROM KATH PETERSON OF CORONATION PARK:
Physically, Bud is a powerhouse. He does really well on little feed, conserves his energy and always looks as though you could GO SHOW him tomorrow. His baby doll head, so tiny and pretty, is set on a long elegant neck. He was described in his stallion service advertisement in the States as “the horse with the head and neck to die for”
With, powerfully amazing and very deep shoulders. Straight clean legs, good sound feet of proportionate size that he passes onto his stock. No navicular problems here. His huge hindquarter and great gaskin are of course the quarter horse owners’ dream. I really think he is best described as ‘BALANCED’.
Never being one, for fads. I detest these “post” hocks of the Fashionable, as it is “NOW” halter horse. The puffy almost roached back that the USA judges are placing high. Being an advocated student of “CORRECT” conformation I look toward the true sound Balanced individual that will be sound for years. This is my "SECRET" to success.
TEMPERAMENT, CORRECTNESS & BALANCE IN CONFORMATION over -rides colour.
Just Shameless 2 yr olds consistently win- strutting their stuff under saddle. They continue to collect National and State Champion titles in a multitude of events from Halter through Hunter, Western Pleasure, trail, Rodeo events and dressage. They stay sound through out their careers and become leading broodmares and sires themselves.
~ PROVING TIME AND TIME AGAIN ~
When you require conformation, temperament, trainability & sheer elegance in your horse flesh & you are a true connoisseur of equine brilliance, look no further than Crown Park Stud, for 'Just Shameless' babies have all the brilliant features of their sire with his amazing character.

Read below for Shameless's full story
- from his discovery in America to his ongoing success with his stuning progeny in Australia
by KATH PETERSON OF CORONATION PARK

Shameless as a Yearling
In 1995 I had imported some paint horse frozen semen and bred it into some pretty nice mares, the resultant foals, although OK, were not really up my standards or expectations. They left a lot lacking in my ideals of producing the “all round paint horse”. There was not a colt amongst them that measured up, in my opinion, though I did like the fillies. I had been back and forth to the USA on numerous trips to find the Perfect
horse to suit Australian conditions.
My aim was, and still is, “to breed that - great - all round horse”
It had / has to be, pretty enough to halter, sound and correct enough to be competitive in the open fields of performance, a horse possessing extreme courage to suit the rodeo world also. An honest and trusting animal with performance behind him and foals on the ground so I could inspect them.
SO… the three of us..
My very best Friend & partner, Peter Flynn of Woodlands Stud - “Octagonal” & "Lohnro" - fame, was, and still remains to this day, my driving force.
Sally McPhee - then very green & new to paint horses. My friend & soon to be business partner. With allies like these pushing me, I had to work hard to find “MR Perfect”.
Peter used to ask me every other day- “What have you come up with?”
Sally asked ….. EVERY DAY!
Sally’s tasks set. To contact every major breeder of WORLD class paint horses in the USA, from the list I had written up for her.
Weeks went by, turning to months.
Be damned if I was going to get caught up in the frozen semen wrangle again! I had had a very bad experience with USA PAINT HORSE frozen semen that I had paid for, not being sent. Involving people of questionable reputations- making false promises, false statements and telling outright lies, from both sides of the world!
That is “in the past”, we live and learn from past experience.
In fact, I really “OWE” these people a big “HEART FELT” THANKYOU!
It was because of the frozen semen mess up that I decided to purchase the “REAL” thing … He turned out to be “Just Shameless”.
We had hundreds of videos, pictures, pedigrees and all the other stuff that comes along with purchasing a horse, covering Sally’s and my lounge room tables for months!
Peter came down to inspect the LAST list.
I wanted JS…but he was “WAY OVERPRICED”
So, Peter, being of the nature he is, said. "Well ladies, why not buy him and 'shuttle him', he is a world class stallion with all the necessary requirements, and Kath.. You, don’t need me to tell you which one YOU want." Peter actually made the decision AT me. That was it. I was off to America. I inspected Just Shameless for purchase at the South-West Stallion Station in Texas. Sally came along with her lovely LITTLE (at the
time) daughter, Jane.

What Kath saw when she went to inspect Shameless was far from what he looked like in this photo!
I will never forget laying eyes on Shameless for the first time!
He was in “very ordinary” condition.
He was being used as a roping and rodeo event horse and was in training with a leading trainer of all round performance horses. These horses work very, very hard. Shameless had been working buffalo in preparation for working cow horse competition in The State of Texas. He was tough and hard. Not what I had expected! He really was IN THE RAW.
Not at all like, the Dual - World Champion - Three times world title holder - Multiple Halter Futurity champion, he was advertised as the previous season, for stallion duties. Those beautiful Gail Bates photos of him winning at the world show, seemed "somewhat distant".
BUT! It was love at first sight…
Taking into account his very ordinary condition, I made certain that his LOOKS and unbelievable PRESENCE were not the only things to influence me. Immediately with much excitement running through my veins and after a phone call home to Peter, I set off to inspect his progeny.
Whilst I was personally evaluating his progeny, the Equine Specialist clinic in Texas ran his tests for soundness and semen quality. I had arranged for his feet, joints and hocks to be x-rayed. The stop of a roping horse is sudden and hard, I wanted his joints checked for jarring and damage, I also had a wind evaluation done.
All reports returned perfect.
Negotiations began when we returned from our inspections of his beautiful progeny. There was no need to look at any further stallions I had made up my mind. We did visit Ranches we had approached purely out of courtesy.

Shameless & Michael ("Spook") Neville
Upon Shameless’ arrival in Australia, Spook (Michael) Neville, one of the greatest rope and rodeo boys in this country, did some ground work with, BUD. (Affectionately known to his FRIENDS). Spook loved riding and roping off him. As is evidenced by his great rides on the Just Shameless VIDEO clip. (He has his own Videotape and song written especially for him!)
Spook continually threatens to come “steal” Bud when I am not looking, he swears he would be the best ever rope horse in Australia…Bud has more pressing and demanding tasks at hand- breeding champions.
Any way they still hang horse rustlers! Don’t they?
“The Sire Of The Century” is how Shameless has been described, by many, leading horsemen.
Great rodeo mounts -Western Pleasure Futurity Champions- Hunter Under Saddle Futurity Champions - barrel race horses - hacks. They suit every discipline. So Pretty, So trainable. His Australian rodeo event horses have brilliance - they run barrels, rope and pickup.

Shameless Progeny, Fertility of Just Shameless is totally unquestionable.
In 1999 he was limited to 45 mares 43 of which tested positively in foal. These mares include the cream of the nation’s Quarter and Paint horse mares. National and Royal show champions and dams of the above champion progeny.
Then again in the year 2003 Coronation Park Stud has limited his breedings still further, Selecting mares on Conformation, performance and breeding.
Just Shameless, for 7 years has honourably won the State and National sires progeny group with fillies bred mostly by Coronation Park Stud.
Coronation Park Stud at the time of writing has Just Shameless babies due, full sisters and brothers to National and State and Honour Roll National champions, from Royal, National and state champion mares.
Just Shameless unmistakably marks his progeny with pretty heads, great necks, strong backs and very sound legs.
Most of the mares at Coronation Park Stud are Quarter Horse National Champions who have produced National Champions or are Sisters to National Champions.
Shameless does it hard as most of these mares are very solid in colour, He still manages to produce each year over 75% registered foals from these mares, coloured or not, I have a great market for his progeny as barrel race and rodeo mounts.
Shameless progeny are so very trainable and kind, with a wonderfully curious nature peculiar to all Shameless foals, when you have owned one you just have to have another.
Show ring and arena performances
Just Shameless - USA progeny, have taken multiple futurity champions at Halter and under saddle. His sons are leaving their own legacy in America. His Australian progeny have left his counterparts standing in awe as in the past years his weanlings, yearlings and now ridden horses have won every major futurity they have contested including Open Futurity Champions over all western breeds.
In 1999 J.S. first Australian progeny hit the show ring. There were 5 babies contesting the National Championships. The results speak for themselves. Shameless Bar Room Rose won State Futurity Champion, National Futurity Champion and the Sires Classic Futurity. Standing second to her in all her classes were Shameless fillies. Oh So Shameless was Reserve National Champion and went on to take the high point Paint Halter Horse of Australia
two years in succession. I’m Just Sensational was not shown in the Futurities because of her late foaling date but managed to take Champion State weanling.
In the colt’s section the outstanding colt, Shamefully Spectacular, took National Champion weanling colt, he went onto be New Zealand National champion many times.
Reserve weanling colt champion- Mighty Shameless, took high point honour roll weanling colt in his first year was subsequently sold to Western Australia, as a 2yo won the Western Australian Paint Horse assn Western Pleasure futurity and OPEN western pleasure -remarkable feat beating the older horses in the open classes.
The now defunct Sires’ Classic Futurity saw Just Shameless progeny take one, two, three, four and five in the placing’s. Obviously this upset the breeders and now the Sire’s Classic is no longer in existence ,because of lack of entries of the stallion owners to show against the J.S. progeny
The yearling futurities saw a repeat performance of 1999 with Just Shameless fillies taking State and National Futurities and titles as well as PaintORama Championships. State Futurity Champion was awarded to I’m Just Sensational ahead of Oh So Shameless.
National Champion yearling and PHAA futurity champion was taken by Shameless Bar Room Rose for the second year in succession, Reserve going both times to I’m Just Sensational. Third place being another Shameless filly- Oh So Shameless.
Only one colt represented Just Shameless at the Year 2000 Championships .
Steals the Thunder took Reserve National Champion.

Double Delight
The Year 2000 saw a repeat performance…
Coronation Park bred, Double Delight took every futurity contested during paint week. Prior to her great show at Paint Week she won the Open weanling Futurity at the biggest halter contested event held in Australia “The Halter Showcase” in Victoria. Here Double Delight beat the best Quarter Horses and Western Breeds in the country.
In the year 2000 The Weanling Futurities in Dubbo during Paint Week saw Shameless fillies take Champion and Reserve Champion in every class. Double Delight Champion -Shamefully in Style Reserve.
An Obvious Shame, a solid filly bred by Coronation Park Stud, stood Grand Futurity Champion over all breeds at the 2000 Australian Quarter Horse National Championships Pre Nationals Open show - Beating the best Quarter horses and subsequent QH National Champions in the Weanling futurity. This filly has gone onto take state titles and open futurities and is a consistently good broodmare producing winning progeny.
National Champion Colt from 1999 Shamefully Spectacular (see pic above) was sold to New Zealand where he furthered his career by winning every class he contested throughout the year, including Open Futurities against other imported horses under USA and Australian judges. This colt was sashed National Champion Paint Horse Stallion in New Zealand two years in succession, He has been Royal show champion paint horse twice. Now as a sire he
leaves National Show Champions in New Zealand.

Myshamelessfantasy
Kath's 2001 pick of the litter.
Just Shameless progeny are for sale as soon as they are born with out exception. Myshamelessfantasy, 2001 PHAA Overall high point Honour Roll champion, NSW State Futurity Champion and Sydney Royal Supreme Champion Paint exhibit, was for sale along with all the other foals on Coronation Park Stud.
I told everyone who bothered to ask, which was the best foal of the season? That, She was my choice. Fantasy was the last foal left at the end of the season and I always show the last one. I never choose one to keep. All foals born here are for sale. I had a load of fun showing this great filly through out that year. Her new owners were thrilled that she won the Honour roll High Point halter horse of Australia award. Fantasy has gone on to be a great mare winning national WP + HUS titles in open and Youth
events.
Attesting to the performance of the Shameless progeny consistently winning in the USA- under saddle, Coronation Park Stud anxiously awaited the entrance of the Australian Shameless progeny to the futurities of the Year 2001 in the ridden events.
2001 Halter Futurities, were a “white wash”, again.
The Weanling Futurity classes taking 1st - 2nd - 4th by Just Shameless progeny in huge fields. State and National titles going to Just Shameless fillies and geldings. Sadly again, Just Shameless was not represented by stud colts. This amazing sire begets mainly fillies- he consistently begets a very high percentage of coloured fillies.
Shameless has a light representation of stud colts, as the Coronation Park prefers to geld its colts and make great riders of them.
Coronation Park sold its year 2000, colts off the mares at just weeks of age to overseas and Western Australian clients so these colts remained unshown in Australia.

Oh So Shameless
The 2001 National Western Pleasure Futurity was won by the Coronation Park bred Dual Honour roll halter mare “Oh So Shameless”. The great Trainer Mr Ross Gould was aboard - Ross is known in this great land as “Mr Futurity”. He had a big opinion of Oh SO from the moment he sat in the saddle - he made an early prediction to her National Western Pleasure title, it was her second ride when he reportedly told her owner “she would TAKE the National
Western Pleasure Futurity”!
What a judge -WHAT A HORSE. She took the coveted NATIONAL 2YO WESTERN PLEASURE. Later she was the PHAA 2003 VERSATILITY CHAMPAGNE STAKES WINNER. Now a broodmare she is sure to repay her owners handsomely with great foals
The National 2yo Hunter Under saddle horse was WON by “I’ve No Shame” - owned and bred by Coronation Park Stud, This is a tall, leggy and very pretty gelding under saddle. Ice cream so named as he looks like a naughty child having dribbled ice cream, all over his face.
This gelding was SET for the National hunter Under Saddle title as a weanling - he is out of a pretty t/b mare that raced and won - she was chosen by Kath to produce the HUS champion in the first year of Shameless ridden horses, a long term plan that paid off wonderfully.
Just Shameless, for 3 years has won the State and National sires progeny group with fillies bred mostly by Coronation Park Stud.
What a year for Coronation Park Stud!
Every year since, CORONATION PARK bred horses have taken the Champion /and or/ Reserve Champion in the Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure Futurities at the Nationals. I firmly believe that the Just Shameless legacy will see his sons and daughters will continue to be THE FORCE for generations to come ~ MY LEGACY to the Australian paint horse industry.
THE LEGACY RECOGNISED

As Shameless is only a young sire, he himself has a great future.
I have witnessed the huge impact he has had on the paint horse in Australia and America & NOW NEW ZEALAND..
Just Shameless was bred to be, and has proven he is, an
OUTSTANDING SIRE. Be sure he will leave sons and daughters to carry on his Greatness for generations to come.
I look forward to the future with much interest and excitement - his new home CROWN PARK STUD in NEW ZEALAND - the new foal crops - the next generation of Shameless’ progeny.
I wish Elizabeth all the best for the future.
Kath Peterson
